The secret book of honours of the Fugger family - 3D version

The completely animated 3D presentations of the Geheimes Ehrenbuch (secret book of honours) of the Fugger family and Fuggerorum et Fuggerarum... imagines are currently available in their beta versions. This application is a combined development of the Munich Digitisation Centre (MDZ) and the Microbox company, based on the software "book2net Virtual Reading Room".
At the moment they consist of two-dimensional data transferred into three-dimensional view. For the next release of the program it is planned to manufacture and use "real" 3D-scans of the books.

For opening the animated 3D versions the latest Java version is required, which can be downloaded from the following address:

The applet is optimized for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixel. Depending on display and browser configurations the individual field of view may vary.

Also depending on the individual capacity of the graphic board the margins can sometimes appear jagged. Additional smaller display flaws occur inevitably due to the transfer of two-dimensional images into three-dimensional view.

Depending on processing power and data connection starting the applet might take up to two minutes.

The applet can be controlled by touchscreen (recommended), mouse or keyboard. For details please refer here.
